"Klinika Baltija" offers its patients innovations in comprehensive heart rhythm examinations. Holter monitoring is a continuous examination of the heart rhythm (recording of the electrocardiogram) and analysis during the day.
A conventional electrocardiogram records the heart rate (and other possible changes) only for a very short period of time - usually 12-15 seconds, sometimes 15-30 seconds. In such a short period of time, rhythm disturbances are not always detected, especially if they occur at the wrong time, are paroxysmal in nature.
With the help of Holter monitoring available at Klinika Baltija, the following diseases or conditions can be detected:
- changes in heart rate during the day;
- cause of frequent or infrequent heartbeat;
- various rhythm disorders;
- the number of heartbeats (extrasystoles) per day;
- life-threatening conditions - ventricular rhythm disorders or heart conduction disorders (e.g. atrioventricular block), which must be treated as soon as possible not only with drugs, but often also by implanting an electrocardiometer or performing an ablation procedure;
- the device detects and registers changes in breathing rate during the day, and is also able to recognize episodes of respiratory arrest during sleep (sleep apnea).
- During this test, 3 electrode stickers are attached to the patient's chest, which are connected to a small and convenient (weighing less than 150 g) special device. It is hung around the neck like a pendant. The patient wears the device 24 hours a day. After that, it is removed, connected to a computer and the recorded data is analyzed by a special program by an experienced cardiologist.
- After the analysis of the Holter test, it is possible to accurately identify the disease and prescribe the appropriate treatment 🩺 for the individual patient, thus reducing the risk of treatment side effects and obtaining the maximum good treatment effect. The duration of the test is 24 or 48 hours.
- The examination can be performed without a cardiologist's consultation, which is planned according to the patient's needs and wishes. The examination can also be performed after consulting a cardiologist at other medical institutions.
- 24 hours The price of Holter monitoring is 70 euros. The price includes the analysis of the study, which is performed by an experienced cardiologist working in Kaunas clinics.
- The Holter monitoring device used in the clinic is professional and the results of the test performed with this device are recognized in any other medical institution, so there is no need to repeat the test in another medical institution.
- The test results can be sent to the patient's e-mail, and the analyzed test can be collected in both paper and digital versions at Klinika Baltija.
